Responsibility for the Community
Every person is equal and deserves the same opportunities. thyssenkrupp strengthens this principle with various projects and initiatives worldwide. Together with our employees, we are committed to education and equal opportunities. At the same time, we provide support in acute emergency situations. In this way, we make a positive contribution to local society. Today and tomorrow.
Education
Innovation is the driver of our business development. We want to spread thyssenkrupp's inventive genius. Because we are convinced: Education is a fundamental right that belongs to all people equally. For this reason we work closely in various global partnerships. Our goal: children and adolescents can freely develop their potential within an educational context. And students can explore their skills in practice. For a curious and courageous look towards the future.
Whether biology, chemistry or mathematics – at "Jugend forscht" children and trainees deal with various scientific questions. The young participants present their innovative ideas and solutions in an annual regional competition. thyssenkrupp Steel Europe has supported the project in its organization and implementation for more than 40 years. Our colleagues are also members of the expert jury. We firmly believe: together we will inspire the scientists of tomorrow.
Community & Equal opportunities
There are still many grievances and challenges in our society. For example, many people are still disadvantaged in their professional life. At the same time, natural disasters increase. Together we want to counteract this! That's why thyssenkrupp is involved in various collaborations and initiatives that promote equal opportunities. But we also support in acute disaster situations. For the community. For a better future.
Not everyone has the best possible start in life. Social background often determines whether someone will be able to enter the job market on their own or not. That’s why thyssenkrupp Materials Services has joined forces with JOBLINGE to support disadvantaged young people in a mentoring program lasting several months. The non-profit organization JOBLINGE works with partners from industry, government and society to help young people enter the workforce. Our mentors identify the teenagers’ individual strengths and interests. They support the young talents in finding internships and apprenticeships – at thyssenkrupp and beyond. The goal: real job opportunities and sustainable integration into the labor market as well as society.
